Experience the art of collaborative music-making in our Chamber Ensemble Studios. Designed for intermediate to advanced instrumentalists, this class provides students with the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a small ensemble.
Students will develop the unique skills required for chamber music, including active listening, musical communication, balance and blend, ensemble leadership, stylistic interpretation, and independent preparation. Repertoire is selected to challenge and inspire each ensemble while fostering technical growth and artistic expression.
Weekly coaching from experienced faculty helps students refine their musicianship, build confidence, and deepen their understanding of ensemble performance. The session culminates in one or more public performances, allowing students to share their work with the community.
Prerequisites: Placement by audition or instructor recommendation. Students should have a solid technical foundation and be able to prepare music independently.

A concert band comprised of winds, brass, and percussion players. This concert band is a unique opportunity for musicians in the region to come together and play music ranging from Sousa Marches and Traditional Wind Band music to movie themes and contemporary pieces. Students will gain experience with ensemble technique and benefit from the program’s inclusion of adult and professional players in the group.
Explore masterworks by Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven along with folk tunes, popular songs, and contemporary literature. The MCMS flute choir is a team of music educators, MCMS students, and intermediate players. Younger students are paired with adult members to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Flute choir enjoys performing multiple times a year here at the school as well as within the greater Manchester community.
No audition required. Stop by anytime to play with us at a rehearsal or hear a concert! Also accepting accompaniment instruments such as bass, piano, and percussion.

Welcome to students of all levels and instruments and voice parts, the Rock Pop, Blues Ensemble is designed to give students opportunity to explore the sounds and styles of American popular music with fun, unique arrangements. Explore the basics of improvisation, ear training, and rock out in a fun and engaging ensemble!
(One year of playing experience recommended)
The jazz ensemble offers students a guided approach to jazz playing. Musicians with limited exposure to jazz are welcome, as this ensemble is designed to support students in gaining confidence in jazz and refine their individual musicianship.
