Outreach Programs

MCMS maintains strong community partnerships to provide music therapy services at schools, organizations, and programs throughout the Southern New Hampshire area. Music therapy experiences are tailored to meet the needs of the individual site.

IEP/School-based

Currently, MCMS partners with 7 different school districts to provide music therapy as a related service on a student’s IEP. In these cases, a Board Certified Music Therapist conducts a Special Education Music Therapy Assessment on the student, working with the IEP team to determine eligibility of music therapy as a related service on the IEP. If recommended, music therapy may be provided in an individual or group capacity as appropriate.

Community Based

Music therapy services may be provided at schools or local organizations in a group capacity. The structure of these services is based on the needs of the organization or school and can take place at MCMS or within the community at a host site. Typical goals may include: social, academic, music learning, or as appropriate for the community partner.
