MCMS Luau honors Piper Loveless with the Tom Lewry Leadership Award.

Piper Loveless, Leadership Award
Manchester, NH – May 1st 2026 – Manchester Community Music School (MCMS) is proud to announce that Piper Loveless has been selected as the recipient of the Tom Lewry Leadership Award, in recognition of her extraordinary leadership and lasting impact on the MCMS and Manchester community.

Piper served as Executive Director of MCMS from July 2018 through September 2023, guiding the organization through one of the most challenging periods in its history. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her leadership ensured that MCMS remained a steady and reliable presence for students, families, and faculty. While all other community music schools in NH paused operations, MCMS continued without interruption, swiftly transitioning to virtual lessons and programming so that students could keep learning and teachers could remain employed.

Her commitment to creativity and connection was especially evident in the reimagining of beloved traditions like the 2020 Holiday Pops, which brought the community together in a meaningful and innovative way during a time of isolation.

“At a time when schools around the world were struggling to stay open, Piper ensured that MCMS was the only community music school in New Hampshire to never stop providing services during the pandemic,” said Polly Towner, Executive Director of Manchester Community Music School. “Her leadership kept us all going. She also created a vital role within our organization, the Director of Education, which was my first role at the music school under her leadership. We are eternally grateful for her contributions.”

Under Piper’s leadership, the Queen City Music and Leadership Program was launched and flourished. The program continues to serve as a vital pathway for young musicians in Manchester, reflecting her vision for access, leadership, and community impact through music.

Beyond her work at MCMS, Piper’s dedication to community-building extends even further. During her tenure as Executive Director, she began the work of founding an Anglican church in Manchester, where she now serves as a priest. The church continues to grow, reflecting her deep commitment to service, community, and connection.

Today, Piper remains a vital part of the MCMS community as a Harp faculty member, continuing to inspire and uplift students through her teaching.

MCMS is honored to celebrate Piper and her enduring contributions to the school and the broader Manchester community. Her leadership, compassion, and vision exemplify the spirit of the Tom Lewry Leadership Award.

We invite anyone who has benefited or been changed by Piper’s leadership to attend the MCMS Luau on May 22nd and celebrate with us her transformative impact.
