Cardboard Box Theater
Join us for theater games, improvisation and skits! We will create a play based on a familiar story, write songs and choreograph dance numbers! We’ll also make costumes, props and cardboard box set design. Concludes with a musical theater performance. Instructor: Ruthanne Paulson
This is a great class for the middle school student. Last years GarageBand class created their own audio book, complete with sound effects and music! Come learn how it’s done! Composition is fun using Apple’s GarageBand! Create your own sound effects, background tracks for improvisation, loops, hip-hop, and more. Create new original sounds or use the endless possibilities within the program. Knowledge of Macintosh computers is helpful, but not required. Instructor: Carl Benevides

MCMS Chamber Music Festival
Join us for 8 weeks of rehearsals with performances throughout and a collective performance at the end. The chamber ensembles will include a flute choir, string ensemble, clarinet choir, brass choir, jazz combo, piano ensemble and mixed ensembles including voice and guitar. Music and groups will be tailored to the level of the player. Each group will perform for each other throughout the summer with the option to play at off site events and communities such as nursing homes and churches.
Musicians need not attend all rehearsals to participate. Pianists must have one year of study prior to the festival.

Young Musicians Club
Work on your musicianship skills by playing in a chamber group with friends, learning music history stories, and participating in large group activates such a marching kazoo band! Class time will be divided into outdoor fun, social games, music history lessons, and chamber music. Open to all instruments, including Suzuki. Beginning Maestros Suzuki Readiness
A great first step in beginning Suzuki Study. Children ages 3 through 7 come with their parent and begin early music development skills needed for success when studying an instrument. Children will learn songs, develop sense of beat, begin music reading skills, and listening skills. Parents will develop observation skills, strategies in guiding home practice, and achieve a deeper understanding of the Suzuki method while working with their child to develop musical thinking. Campers and parents will share some activities with Suzuki Track Campers. Parents are invited to attend all Suzuki activities. Instructor: Rebecca Carl

Intro to Piano
For beginners! Come learn the basics of piano playing and music reading in a group environment. Notes, rhythms, and basic piano playing technique will be covered. Student will need a piano or keyboard at home to reinforce the class time.
