Stephen Shey, Violin, Piano, Suzuki Violin, Suzuki Piano

Stephen Shey holds a Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from The Boston Conservatory.  His primary teachers have included Aideen Zeitlin, Blanka Bednarz, Eric Rosenblith, Dana Mazurkevich, Mark Lakirovich, and Lynn Chang.

Mr. Shey has been teaching in the Greater Boston area for the past 12 years. He has undergone Suzuki Piano Teacher Training with Jane Kutscher Reed in addition to Suzuki Violin Teacher Training with Nancy Lokken & John Kendall.  Mr. Shey is a Suzuki certified violin and piano teacher. He has also studied the art of teaching with Carole L. Bigler, Clayton Scott and Katharine Rapoport.

Mr. Shey, a hearing impaired Chinese American violinist, made his international debut at the age of 18 in Manila, Philippines at the James B. Reuter Theater, St. Paul University. Since then, he has performed at the invitation of the Philippines ambassadors of Sweden and the US at music museums and memorial dedication ceremonies. As a soloist, Mr. Shey has performed in concerts in countries around the world, including Canada, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. He has also performed with the Poland Sinfonietta, joining the orchestra led by Maestro Cheung Chau in an 8-city tour of China.
