Kylie Elliott, Music Therapy Intern

Education:
Bachelor of Art in Music Performance and Biology from University of Vermont, VT
Working towards Master’s in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific, CA
Music Therapy and Related Experience:
Growing up in Southern New Hampshire, Kylie was heavily involved in the music programs in school and throughout the state as a flutist. She has also picked up other instruments, including alto saxophone, bassoon, guitar, ukulele, piano, percussion instruments, and vocals. After going to college as a pre-med student majoring in biology and music performance, it was evident that music was the field she belonged in. Kylie spent her years in college working as a personal care assistant to adolescents with exceptionalities and adults in memory care, where she discovered music therapy as a way to effectively communicate and interact with her clients. When pursuing an education in music therapy, she found herself in California where she worked with toddlers in early intervention, medically fragile children, newborns in the NICU, and adults in mental health care. Kylie began working as a music therapy intern at MCMS in January 2023 and is excited to lead music therapy sessions, lessons, and groups like Sprouting Melodies, drumming, ukulele, and the Queen City Music and Leadership program.
