Teaching Statement:

Becoming a Suzuki teacher has brought an entirely new and fresh understanding of the learning and teaching process. It has been the single most impactful experience upon my career.


B.A., Music Therapy at Montclair State University under Barbara Wheeler and Karen Goodman, M.A., Music Education, Montclair State University. Prominent flute teachers include Thomas Wilt and Robert Willoughby, both of the Joseph Mariano lineages. Ms. Teehan received her Suzuki training under the tutorage of David Gerry (McMaster University).

Teaching/Performance Bio:

An enthusiastic chamber musician, Judy loves teaching, coaching and playing new and old works involving the flute. Some of Judy’s most prized accomplishments include: cofounding Infinities Chamber Ensemble and the many innovative chamber music performances; the starting of many high school and middle school chamber music programs; studying and teaching Suzuki Flute and the mentorship of David Gerry; and her years of arts leadership with the Manchester Community Music School and the amazing admin team and Board of Directors. Now retired, Judy spends more time riding her bike, sewing her wardrobe, and enjoying every-day life.
