Teaching Statement

Guiding aspiring musicians of all ages to embrace the passion of creating music is one of the greatest gifts that any musician can pass along. My goal is to inspire, influence and develop this passion so that they may one day do the same.

Ethan Cheng has studied with a variety of cellists, notably Carol Ou at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School and Harel Geitheim at the Manchester Community Music School. While studying under Mr. Geitheim, Ethan won the 2003 Greater Manchester Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and was a Finalist in the 2003 Nashua Symphony Orchestra’s Young Musician’s Concerto Competition. Outside of music, Ethan has a B.S. in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and is a member of the Gamma Nu Chapter of Delta Mu Delta, Business Honors Society.

Teaching/Performance Bio

Ethan began playing the cello at the age of four, first drawn to the instrument after hearing his father play. Currently, he is a member of the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra and the Southern New Hampshire University Orchestra.
