Cheryl Laughlin is the founder, owner, and director of The Music Workshop of Concord, a music school established in 1989 in Concord, New Hampshire. Cheryl has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with Piano concentration from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is a state certified music teacher in New Hampshire and has state and national certification from The Music Teachers National Association. Cheryl is a certified Orff -Schulwerk teacher and completed her training at Lowell University. Cheryl earned an early childhood certificate from the New Hampshire Technical Institute. In 2010, Cheryl was awarded the Teacher of the Year Award by the New Hampshire Music Teachers Association in 2010.

Cheryl also specializes in early childhood music education and has received early childhood training with Dr. John Feierabend at the University of Hartford and completed early childhood training in “Kindermusik” and “Music Together ” programs. Cheryl has further training in piano pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University, New England Conservatory, Longy School of Music and Plymouth State University.

Cheryl was the general music teacher for the Abington Middle School from 1976-1977 in Abington MA and general music teacher for the Dunbarton Elementary School from March 2004- June 2008. She has taught early childhood music classes, group piano and private piano at The Music Workshop of Concord since it was founded in 1989. Cheryl was the general music teacher at the Meeting House Montessori School, and the Casa dei Bambini in Bow, NH from 2013-2019.

Cheryl was president 2005-2007 for the New Hampshire Music Teachers Association and president 2003-05 for the Concord Music Club. She is an active member of the NHMTA Seacoast chapter, New England Pianoforte Teachers Association, Early Childhood Music & Movement Association, National Association of Music Education and the American Orff – Schulwerk Association. Cheryl was the president of the New Hampshire Music Teachers Association from 2016-2021 and is currently the Past President of NHMTA for 2021-23.

Currently, Cheryl teaches group and private piano lessons full time at her studio, The Music Workshop in Concord and is the general music teacher for the Meeting House Montessori School for grades preschool -4th grade in Bow, NH. She also teaches music classes at the Casa dei Bambini in Bow NH, a Montessori day care center.
