Erik Strout, Guitar – Erik studied Music Education and Classical Guitar at Keene State College. Erik’s experience as a private instructor of guitar and music theory began while still at Keene State in the early 90’s. In addition to teaching, Erik has been an active free lance guitarist working as a solo performer, in small ensembles and in theatre pit bands for musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Man of La Mancha, Godspell and many more. Erik teaches classical guitar using the Aaron Shearer method as well as a variety of other popular styles, using various methods, to bring the joy of guitar to students of all ages. When working with school age students interested in popular music, Erik uses songs of their choice as the basis for teaching fundamentals of the guitar, music theory, history and improvisation through a gamified guitar method.
