About the NH Youth Jazz Ensemble
A fast-paced, high-level jazz performance ensemble consisting of the areas’ top high-school (and the occasional middle-school) jazz musicians.This ensemble’s primary focus is on developing the student’s technique, improvisational skills and deepening their understanding of jazz. Challenging repertoire will include standard, classic and modern jazz charts. Besides great improvisers we seek strong classical performers with an interest in jazz as well.
NH Youth Jazz Ensemble II – Junior and High School Students
Description: This jazz performance ensemble will meet the needs of up and coming jazz players. Students will develop the basic skills of the jazz language in an ensemble setting.
- OPEN REHEARSAL… a good opportunity for kids to try the group out, and for Matt Redmond, conductor, to recognize incoming talent. September 10 and 17 from 5 – 6 pm at the Music School.
