Education:
Cecilia has been a lifelong MCMS student, attending early childhood classes, taking violin and voice lessons, and participating in the Dino Anagnost Youth Symphony Orchestra of New Hampshire in high school. Cecilia attended college at Charleston Southern University and received a bachelor’s degree in music therapy. As part of her degree program, she completed a 10-month music therapy internship here at MCMS.
Music Therapy and Related Experience:
Cecilia began working as a music therapist at MCMS in 2021. She has training in voice, violin, piano, guitar, ukulele, and music therapy techniques. She has clinical experience working with individuals of a variety of ages and backgrounds. Music therapy experience includes sessions and adaptive lessons with individuals who have physical and cognitive disabilities, mental health disorders such as anxiety, and neurological differences such as autism spectrum disorder. Cecilia has been working with children for many years and has completed specialized training in Sprouting Melodies®, which is a music therapist-led early childhood music program with a development-based approach. In addition, Cecilia has experience teaching music lessons with an individualized approach.
