Camp Crescendo: Band, Orchestra and Chorus Camp
Advance musical skills and talent while having fun, meeting new friends, and learning to work as a team. Designed for kids in grades 4–9 who have been playing their instrument for a minimum of 1 year, this week-long camp will build skills in ensemble playing, introduce students to music theory, composition and musical theatre.
Ages: Entering grades 4 through 9.

This camp week will explore music of the world. Campers will have a day of activities including time in the music tech lab with garage band, the chance to learn fundamentals of guitar and piano, play in a rhythm band, have the opportunity to take five days of group lessons on a band instrument, and put on a musical theatre presentation

Licks and Riffs Guitar Camp
Guitars are recognized as one of the primary instruments in jazz, blues, country, flamenco, mariachi, rock and many forms of pop music. Come play guitar in large and small groups, learn new chords, songs and styles of this most famous instrument. All levels and styles welcomed!

Open to all instrumentalists, winds strings and percussion, Jazz Camp gives kids the opportunity to build jazz techniques and styles with a focus on improvisation and ensemble playing. Work with Carl and his innovative techniques to inspire and motivate all players!

The Percussion Camp at the Music School will explore drum set, concert percussion and other world music percussion sounds and styles. We look forward to expanding your percussion experience with excellent opportunities for fun and growth.

For: students with one or more years playing an instrument. Open to all kids who can read rhythms and have some experience playing an instrument.
This is a great class for the middle school student. Last years Garage Band class created their own audio book, complete with sound effects and music! Come learn how it’s done!
Composition is fun using Apple’s GarageBand! Create your own sound effects, background tracks for improvisation, loops, hip hop, and more. Create new original sounds or use the endless possibilities within the program. Knowledge of Macintosh computers is helpful, but not required.

Joy of Music Camp
Campers will enjoy a variety of music and arts activities in large and small groups, along with structured indoor and outdoor play throughout the day. They will put on a musical theatre presentation, and experience the joy of sharing their music. Learn new instruments, songs, art projects, and have fun this summer!
No prior music experience required.

Come join the Joy of Music camp, and bring along your Suzuki training! The Suzuki Track is for students who have completed at least their first year of study with a Suzuki violin or piano instructor. In addition to The Joy of Music camp activities, the Suzuki Track campers will participate in performance classes in small and large group settings. Children will have the opportunity to play in a chamber group, participate in a master class, and explore a potpourri of musical games and activities. All Suzuki Track classes will be taught by Suzuki instructors. Parents are invited to attend all Suzuki activities.

Beginning Maestros Suzuki Readiness Camp Week
A great first step in beginning Suzuki Study. Children ages 3 through 7 come with their parent and begin early music development skills needed for success when studying an instrument. Children will learn songs, develop sence of beat, begin music reading skills, and listening skills. Parents will develop observation skills, strategies in guiding home practice, and achieve a deeper understanding of the Suzuki method while working with their child to develop musical thinking. Campers and parents will share some activities with Suzuki Track Campers.
All Suzuki classes will be taught by Suzuki instructors. Parents are invited to attend all Suzuki activities.

Just Added – Harp Camp!
This is the first year of harp camp at the Manchester Community Music School! Come join us to celebrate all things harp. We will form a harp ensemble of varied levels and work on selections together from the Pop and classical repertoire. This is a great first ensemble experience to prepare for orchestral playing, or if you are a seasoned player come learn how to lead in a group setting. Each day we will have a workshop on different aspects of playing; how to use levers and pedals more effectively, rhythm, how to practice, chords and improvisation and how to handle nerves when you perform. We will also have several miniature master classes to each polish a solo for the final recital on Friday evening. This is a great place to come and work on performing, share your passion for harp and try playing in a large group!

Times: 1:00PM – 4:00PM, Final performance Friday, August 2 at 6:00PM.
Ages: Must have a year of lessons completed. (Suggested age 2nd – 10th grade)
