All groups will have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 participants and will run for 45 minutes each week. The students may be verbal or non-verbal and are welcome to bring any augmentative communication devices that may enhance communication and participation. Groups will be determined based upon age, diagnosis, and the developmental level of each participant. Typical activities in music therapy groups include instrument playing, song writing, improvisation, familiar and unfamiliar song singing, movement to music, and many other music-based activities.

Before a student is placed in a group, he/she will need to be evaluated to determine what group would best fit his/her needs. The cost of the group includes a 30 minute phone interview with the parent or primary caretaker and a 15 minute evaluation which will take place at the Manchester Community Music School.
